Lauren Jones

LAWYER/INVESTIGATOR/RESTORATIVE FACILITATOR

Lauren is a lawyer with a background in human rights, administrative and employment law. She has over 10 years of experience in the area of human rights.

Lauren is a trusted investigator and mediator, specializing in restorative approaches to conflict resolution. Lauren has conducted, guided, facilitated and/or consulted on numerous workplace investigations, mediations and/or Human Rights Tribunal matters.

Lauren enjoys educating people on their rights and obligations for the purpose of preventing harm resulting from discrimination, workplace harassment and other human rights violations. She has developed and conducted a variety of human rights oriented educational workshops on topics such as, jurisdictional human rights issues for Indigenous persons and accommodation obligations for managers. Lauren also has experience drafting policies and procedures within the realm of human rights, workplace harassment and conflict resolution.

Lauren enjoys writing in her spare time and has co-authored a manuscript titled, Conflict Resolution of the Boruca Hydro-Energy Project: Renewable Energy Production in Costa Rica, published by Continuum International Publishing Group and was a contributing author in the educational text, Victimology in South Africa published by Van Schaik Publishers (2013). She has recently updated her chapter, "Kill or be killed: the plight of child soldiers in Africa" for the third edition of the Victimology in Africa text (2019).
